Forever Friends

On Saturday night, I had the pleasure of having dinner with four of my childhood friends. When you graduate high school you have no idea where your life will lead. And if you think you know, well you’re probably wrong. I love that even after all these years, my friends and I can still get together and have a great night out. We are grown up and have led very different lives – some went to college, some didn’t, some got married, some didn’t, some have older kids, some have babies, some moved away, some stayed in our hometown and the list of differences goes on and on.  When you’ve been friends “forever” though these differences don’t seem to matter. One of my favorite things about hometown friends is that no matter where you go in life you can always get back together (even if it’s been years). Also, if you’re anything like me and my friends, you will spend most of the night laughing until you can barely breathe. Whenever we are together, stories, comments, the waitress, other restaurant patrons, and just about everything else always seem funnier. We giggle as if we are still little school girls so I guess things don’t change that much after all. Not even being rear ended while at a red light on my drive home (no injuries, minimal damage) could erase the smile from my face that night and that says A LOT!

Who wouldn't want to be lifelong friends with this girl?!
