Natural Born Killer?

As some of you know, Daniel has always been our problem child. Although he was our third baby he was our first in a lot of ways. He was our first baby that was fussy, first baby that projectile spit up ALL THE TIME, first baby that screamed for no known reason, and the list goes on and on. Now he is a rambunctious 15 month old and is our first of a whole new bunch of things. On the top of the list is a temper like we’ve never seen and he is WAY more physical than any of the other kids. His first instinct when he gets anything in his hands is to hit someone with it. It doesn’t matter if it’s a hammer or a Barbie doll, it’s coming for you. And let me tell you, this kid’s got some oomph behind it. Tell him “no”? Oh, well that’s just plain funny to him and an invitation to do it again. On top of that, whenever he gets mad the first thing he does is flail his hands around in full tantrum mode and hit whatever he can in sight. Nothing in sight? Well then he’ll make his way across the room just to hit a sibling. It makes me wonder why he is so much more physical than the other kids. Are all 3rd babies this way? Do they pick it up from watching their sibling? Maybe, but I must say that my “big” kids have many faults but hitting, pushing, etc. are not really some of them so it’s definitely not like Daniel sees it all the time. Oh, and in case it needs to be said, Tim and I aren’t whacking each other around either (well, not in front of the kids at least). So I think the only logical conclusion that I can come to is that he was born a psycho. An adorable, chubby, little psycho that will hopefully learn to work through his anger issues before he does some permanent damage to himself or someone else. In the meantime, I’m just going to try to stay on his good side.
