My First Outside Run (Ever)

This morning I came down the stairs and my legs were not killing me. In fact, they weren't even really that sore - something that hasn't happened since I started Boot Camp on Monday. So I decided that I should go for a run. Please note, I have NEVER gone for a run in my life. So I set the kids up on the couch with milk and cereal bars and headed outside at 7am. If I don't exercise early I will not do it at all (like how I didn't do it for the past 5+ years!).

In hindsight, picking a 31 degree morning with whipping winds may not have been the best choice for a first ever run outside. I pretty much can't breathe when attempting to run anyway never mind with ridiculous winds blowing in my face. How do people run without tears pouring down their face the whole time?  I also question how people get ear buds to stay in their ears while running? Do I need to super glue them in there?!

I definitely spent way more time walking than I did running. However, I figure even walking burns more calories than sitting on the couch watching Sofia the First with the kids, right?

  1. Good for you! You are doing great. I'm the same way, if I don't do it in the morning, exercise usually doesn't happen. Have a great day knowing your workout is done!

  3. You are fantastic! I loved running when I actually did it, but I just can't get inspired to start up again. Please keep writing & sharing, maybe you'll inspire me fat arse to move soon!
